malacca: mille crepe cakes by nadeje

I had been craving for cake for a while. A few days back, I was sitting in the office suffering a case of PMS, when I thought "Screw this, I'm going out to get some cake because my uterus and I both deserve it!" (said no one ever... out loud). And so I escaped for a few minutes to take refuge in a nearby Starbucks.

That probably isn't the best introduction for a dessert, but I was surprised to find a chocolate crepe cake in their chiller because I did not know such heavenly creation exists -- until I went to Malacca.

The one by Starbucks was enough to satisfy a craving, but the ones I've tasted in Malacca are exquisite.. both in presentation and taste. Say hello to mille crepe cakes by Nadeje.

Tiramisu

Green Tea. Mhmmm..

Lemon Cheese (!!!!)

Mango Yogurt

Earl Grey Tea
How they manage to keep a consistent stack of thinness, I absolutely have no idea (fairy magic, perhaps?). I'm compelled to go back to Malacca just to experience this again.

kids with cameras

One of my fondest memories with my nephews were taken this day. They live in another continent so days like these are rare. I was happily surprised when both of them took interest in playing with my cameras. They even did their own mini photowalk that morning. The memory alone makes me chuckle.

I guided them along as they bombard me with questions on how to use the camera (basically how to press the shutter button). My heart would flinch every time they'd take a shot and would call me just to let me see the result :) I know it was all play for them, but it was so nice and endearing how even for a moment the kids loved doing what I love doing now as an adult.

Robert & Francis

With Lolo :)

Shooting me shooting him :)

That smile! <3

Francis having a hard time handling the camera but was still so persistent as seen through his face haha!

One of my most memorable shots

Robert and I stopped on this spot, and I told him our shadows were nice subject to take a photo of. And so we did. And that moment felt a lot like love.

on loop #2

I'm not surprised; that my second playlist for this series carries only one song.

It was three years ago when I heard a news bit from the radio that Adele is taking a break from music for four or five years. I thought it was nuts, because she was at the height of her Grammy's success at the time and also, what do I listen to until then?

Come to think of it, the break didn't feel that long. I like how this first single was just dropped out of nowhere, with a very fitting first line: Hello, it's me.

HelloAdele
to tell you i'm sorry for breaking your heart // but it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore

This is clearly a mature Adele. Her face seems to take a longer shape now and damn, a lot more expressive. I was so fond of her timid nature from the first two albums, especially in live performances. I think what I most liked about her packaging is, here's a girl with a royal voice, but too nonchalant to care about fame because her heart is broken. That seems out the door now. However, two things I like stays the same: the age-based album title and the perfect winged eyeliner :)

The second single is out. It reminds me of her Make You Feel My Love music video, which was also filmed in live audio.

Excited for tomorrow's album release. Don't be surprised if the entire album is on the next playlist.
