INTRAMUROS PASYAL SUNDAY
I have already said this before, that one of my dream jobs is to be a part of Department of Tourism's campaign, It's more fun in the Philippines. I think the materials are really fresh, creative and very witty :) I imagine shooting for that campaign must be life-fulfilling, getting to travel and discover more of the thousands of islands in your own land. But while I can see that this dream is not happening when I'm in an office desk eight hours a day at five times a week, my office job pays for the rolls of film I enjoy shooting with when days-off and short trips come, like this one :) I still get to be in my dream job once in a while.
On a one fine Sunday of March, I paid a visit to Viva Manila's flagship project, the Intramuros Pasyal Sunday. Pasyal is a Tagalog word which means, stroll. Simply put, you get to stroll within the Walled City, check out the local artisans, participate in the street fair and even dine after walking the entire Gen. Luna Street.
I only knew about poetry slam when I read Colleen Hoover's book Slammed, and I'm glad to see a live one here :)
Sometimes I feel like I'm one of those kids jumping, reaching for the bubbles of my dreams only to get a few mist in the face. But I say it's still worthwhile :)
P.S. My ultimate dream job is to be a National Geographic photographer. I can visualize it clearly when I sleep :D

ELUSIVE
Generously accommodating a variety of thoughts and feelings about life these days but words have become elusive, once again.

THE ROAD TO TONLE SAP LAKE
After visiting Beng Mealea, it was time for an hour drive to the largest fishwater lake in Southeast Asia. The road to the great Tonle Sap Lake and Floating Village is a journey in itself. The path is slightly narrow, almost enough for a two-way ride, but side-by-side, it houses the local Cambodian life. We even passed by a traditional wedding :)
From time to time, we are served with wide area of green fields, something that reminds me of the fields here in the Philippines. The only distinction, and a very noticeable one, is the red soil :) Even the plants and parts of the houses are red too because of the dust coming from the vehicles passing by.
When we arrived to our destination, we hopped on to our boat and listened to the engine roar. I sat, curious on a new community that lies ahead of us.

GOLDEN HOUR AT SAMONTE PARK
One Sunday morning. I woke up, slung my camera on shoulder, hopped on a bike and made my way to Samonte Park. This is what greeted me good morning at 7AM.
Posting sunny photos (sort of) because it has been stormy and cloudy for the last four days. Glenda (the typhoon) came with very strong winds, we had power blackout until last night.
Sending light to you wherever you are, dear reader :)

DEAR YOU
- I guess I'm still wounded by the choice you have made. Despite that, I see you these days liking what you do, and maybe it's what I try to fight the bitterness with, that whatever you have decided to choose is worth leaving me for.
- Maybe I'm ready to forgive you now. Just, maybe.
- It's getting fun around you now. As refreshing it is to watch a budding friendship, I cannot help to be cautious too.
- We think alike and may have things in common more than we realize. If only you would stop acting like a little boy.

CAFFE BENE
At last, I have found my favorite coffee shop chain and branch! Caffe Bene (Korean-based) inside the SMX Convention Center.
I was coming out of the building when I passed by it and was immediately caught by the wooden interior (again, I know) PLUS the sight of only three to five customers at that time. Thought it was the perfect place to just read a book and pass time with a cup of coffee, without having to hear other people's conversation at the next table, so I wrote a mental note to visit it one time. I know they are are not libraries, but nothing annoys me quickly than a bunch of loud people at coffee shops (just the thought of it annoys me now).
So on one free afternoon, I brought a book, went and had a great, quiet time by myself. There was more people than the initial, but nothing that would distract me compared to if I was on Starbucks or CBTL. Couldn't be more impressed when I ordered a cup of cappuccino and thought that it was the best I have tasted so far. It was a perfect match to my book at that time :)
P.S. I love Rainbow Rowell's Attachments! Beth and Jennifer's email exchange are so funny :D Can't remember the last time smiled and laughed with a book. I was instantly captured by Rainbow Rowell that I just purchased Eleanor and Park yesterday, and I cannot wait to dive on her story again :)
