cambodia: bantay srei

I think I've let these photos age enough not to share the magnificence of this place. Definitely my favorite ones among the bunch of films I took home from Cambodia last year, I almost just wanted to keep them to myself.

And by the way, here are the winners of my giveaway :)

Congratulations to Carmela (winner of Holga 120N) and Pratiksha (winner of the film set)! :) Please email me your contact name and address at grewlegsmail@gmail.com (Pratiksha, I think I have yours already hehe). Happy shooting!

on the way to macau

I don't always feel courageous shooting in public spaces, but when I do, I feel so privileged to be able to capture moments in aimless wandering.

how many times?

How many times have you said: "This is it. I've finally found my one true love?"
And how many times has the reality turned out differently?

april x film photography day giveaway

Happy Film Photography Day! ♥

I'm grabbing the opportunity of this celebratory mood in film photography to announce that I'm giving away film stuff :) It has been two years since I officially started wonderfully documenting life with film, and I don't see myself putting a halt to it anytime soon despite how financially-challenging this hobby is at times. In spite of limited availability of film and processing labs, I'm glad that there is still an active underground community of film photographers and online shops here in the Philippines. In two years, I have been able to get my hands with five film cameras and a number of films that can suffice me for a year.

Two months ago, I have luckily acquired a Ricoh GR1S that I have been waiting for months! At first, I thought of selling three of my cameras so I could somehow get even with my "savings" (quotations, because who am I kidding here I don't have savings) because the Ricoh bored a deep hole in my pocket (I don't regret it though!). But then I thought, why not just give away one, instead of putting myself in such a tedious process of selling stuff online (answering inquiries and meeting up with the buyer) when I really don't expect any profit from it?

So... (such a long introduction, no?) in line with my birth month, I have decided that I'm giving away my very first film camera: a Holga 120N plastic film camera, and some 35mm color negative films! Since these are in different formats, there will be two winners (one for the camera, and one for the films). To join, simply comment your answer to the question: What is your favorite subject to photograph, AND why?

And to save myself from the challenge of subjectively picking my favorite answers, I will be using a randomizer to choose the winners :)

Holga 120N plastic film camera with lens cap, mask, strap and box -- only used twice

2 Kodak Colorplus 200 (bought from HK with 2016 expiry), 2 Fujicolor 400  (bought from HK with 2016 expiry), 2 Agfa Vista 400 (expired), 1 Kodak Gold 400 (expired) and 1 Agfa Vista 200 (12 shots, expired) -- ALL rolls have been cold-stored.

Giveaway runs until my birthday (April 27) haha :D I will announce the winners before April ends :) Cheers!
