hong kong: riding the mtr

I am going to jumpstart my Hong Kong trip posts with the one thing I have absolutely loved in this city -- the MTR! Although, in my experience, Singapore's MRT propels with the same efficiency, there's something about Hong Kong's train service that knocked me off my socks and made me want to take the whole railway system back to Manila (where the train system is horrendous!)

Not sure how I am going to survive posting this 7-roll trip without having to book another flight to this vigorous city :)

    1. Ahhh I wish to see those, Sara :) I enjoy observing people in the train (no matter how annoying the system is in here unfortunately haha)

My mum has no idea her face is on this blog :">

  2. I love looking at train station/subway photos and yours aren't an exception. I especially love photo #2! Too bad, I've always been too scared of taking candid shots of strangers. I don't know if you're supposed to ask permission before taking photos and ruin the moment, after when the damage has been done or never. haha I guess I'll never be good at street photography!

    1. That is something I am also trying to learn every time, to photograph people in public! It is really so damn hard haha! But I guess I am WAY more confident shooting outside when I'm out of the country (like in this post). If I do take a shot inside the MRT here, they are just always quick snapshots because I am still afraid to be called a creep (even though I already am, hello) :D

    2. Right! I thought so too! Being a tourist, I guess gives you the permission to take photos anywhere? Wow, you do have photos inside the MRT? Wow!

    3. Haha, very few though! And of course because I'm trying to do it stealthily, the shots were ALL taken from the hip, mostly out of grid and underexposed. But I 'feel' I would be more daring to shoot inside the MRT if I have company, than just riding alone (I really just can't stand YET being stared at for a long time in proximity hahaha)

    1. I really don't usually have the guts too! I just tell myself to take the advantage of being a tourist and I sometimes get away with it hehehe! But I absolutely cannot decently take photos in our MRT here too, because 1) it is always cramped and 2) I still can't stand the stares when I take out my camera hahaha.
