After visiting Beng Mealea, it was time for an hour drive to the largest fishwater lake in Southeast Asia. The road to the great Tonle Sap Lake and Floating Village is a journey in itself. The path is slightly narrow, almost enough for a two-way ride, but side-by-side, it houses the local Cambodian life. We even passed by a traditional wedding :)
From time to time, we are served with wide area of green fields, something that reminds me of the fields here in the Philippines. The only distinction, and a very noticeable one, is the red soil :) Even the plants and parts of the houses are red too because of the dust coming from the vehicles passing by.
When we arrived to our destination, we hopped on to our boat and listened to the engine roar. I sat, curious on a new community that lies ahead of us.
Hi April! How much did you spend for the whole trip? I want to visit Cambodia in the near future as well. :D
ReplyDeletePlease do when you have a chance! Oh I love Cambodia :)
DeleteI did a mixed of both scrimp and splurge with the travel expenses:
- Scrimp: Airfare (waited for those piso and ten-peso fares haha) and accommodation (booked a $35/night hotel)
- Splurge: Tour (we hired a personal tour guide with a car for $195 for 2 days)
I can't give an exact total amount, sorry! But the ones I mentioned above are the main expenses your money will go to :D
Noted! Thank you for this, April! I am definitely putting Cambodia on my bucketlist.
DeleteYou know what I'm putting in my bucketlist? Returning to Cambodia! Haha :) I hope you get to see it too, Aia :)
Deletei loved the b/w photos. looks very vintage!
ReplyDeleteThanks Praktisha! Still need to work on figuring out consistent and proper exposure though :D
DeleteThere's something different with the bw shots. I should probably try TMax 100 soon.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too, Aia. When I got hold of these scans, I had to pause for a while in each frame and I don't know, stare? Sometimes I can't believe I took them myself.
DeleteYes please, try it when you can. I really recommend it! :)
I see you, Sara :)
