GLORIOUS BORACAY | TWO

I know it is so much easier to shoot in digital because of immediate results, but this I'm certain with: I will never, ever capture the liveliness and depth of colors, and texture like these using a DSLR.

GLORIOUS BORACAY

It was in our last day in Boracay when the sun came out, showering the island with radiance and the sea with such glorious turquoise color. Better late than never! :)

SILHOUETTES AND HIGHLIGHTS

Got inspired early this morning when the Department of Tourism Philippines released yet another fun and exciting video as it gears up for the Visit the Philippines campaign for 2015 (I still dream of working for them!), so I'm sharing again some of the photographs I've taken during my Boracay trip last July.

Trivia: Boracay is my first plane trip destination back in 2008 and I have come back every year since then :)

Going to Boracay is like going home. I usually just book a flight, get excited for months and never need a thing to prepare for it. The island always welcomes me with a three-station stretch of inviting beach, waves of turquoise waters and friendly people.

This year, I have enjoyed a few walks alone along the beach to people watch and simply inhale every bit of beauty that I'm presented with. The unstoppable crashing of waves is so noisy, but its the kind of noise that you inevitably zone out to.

We've had our share of rainshowers during our stay, which was expected since it was monsoon season, but I am also quite happy with how I got a bit of silhouettes and highlights in my photos. A good surprise, I must say :)

I have been to several provinces and islands here in the Philippines, but it still puts me in shame when there are thousands of them that I have not still set foot on. Just in case you're planning a trip for next year, you might want to consider this video below :) :)

INSIDE ILOG MARIA

Apart from the obvious products Ilog Maria have in their shop, I found more interesting sights inside their farm. I tiptoed while getting closer to photograph the geese, but they had a business of their own and kept on walking away from me. When I lost hope on taking a closer shot, I walked back to the shop and met with Mr. Rooster and Sassy Cat instead :)

ILOG MARIA

My workmates and I arranged a day out one Saturday to spend some time together outside the gray, confined walls of our office. We stripped ourselves off from the deadlines and went out for a bit of nature trip. One of the places we have visited is this honeybee farm in Silang, Cavite: Ilog Maria (Ilog means river in Filipino).

Open sesame! :)

LUNCH AT BREAKFAST AT ANTONIO'S

I was chatting with a friend one night, and we gradually slipped into the question of am I happy? Ironically, simple questions reap rather difficult answers. Without a thought I answered with, I could be happier. Not only I was indirectly dodging the question, I was also telling the truth. Admittedly, it's hard to just throw out a direct yes or no answer on this type of question because it says so much about how you see your life, and the amount of satisfaction you feel reeling every single day of it.

I could be happier. But, I am also content.

I see happiness as life's hunger; you just need to keep on feeding it. Although I would not decline a comfortable lifestyle, I much rather spend my days working on life and finding things to look forward to along the way. There's nothing like waking up in the morning excited and giddy on the thought of what lies ahead. That's what makes me feel alive.

Much like this day I want to remember, a lunch at Breakfast at Antonio's in Tagaytay with my bestfriend. Unexpected conversations about the twists and turns of life, old feelings and impressions, and simply an overwhelming wave of gratitude, which inevitably brought me to, well, tears.

Screw the saying, just keep your friends closer.

Looking forward to a fun-packed long weekend! I hope you are, too :)
